that we all need clients and we all need to have a marketing system in place. And let’s face it, lawyer marketing is fiercely competitive.
I wanted to be able to impress my new wife who was the one who told me "you should research and learn everything you can about marketing" and I could enjoy the credibility I knew it would give me in the marketplace.
The thing is I was not finding the time to actually organize and study... let alone find the time to get it all done by myself.
That meant I wasn’t able to impress my new wife who was the one who told me "you should learn everything about marketing", let alone enjoy the credibility I knew it would give me in the marketplace.
To make things worse, I felt terrible because I felt like I was just banging my head against a wall trying to get this giant list of endless tasks done.
I felt even worse about the situation because I had no clue if all this work, I was putting out was going to be in vain and that I'd look stupid in the end. I felt like a failure because it was taking me so long to get established in my business.
The problem was that after 4 years of writing this thing off and on, I finally did it and I started to get some answers from the universe and that opened up a whole new world of rejection.
Which meant after busting my ass off to learn everything I could, now people I didn't even know were telling me my strategy sucked (at least in my mind).
They were actually just basic conversations... but to me they were screaming "Orlando Masis you suck and your business sucks too!), which put me into a funk that lasted for months.
Then, as if by chance, something amazing happened...
That's when I ran into an old friend of mine who told me about how he and his partner had just bought their first computers for their advertising agency and would be selling web space all about how the Internet was changing the face of selling!
It was now crystal clear to me how to stop worrying about finding a way to stand out and focus on how I could find and help the people who would buy my services, because I saw I could control the entire process around my marketing strategies and actually make MORE money off every sale.
I also learned that you DON'T need a giant budget to make money from your own business, you need to focus on creating a funnel for your business instead. You need to put together a funnel for your lawyer marketing efforts.
As a result I put everything I’ve learned to work for my businesses on my own websites along with a funnel of related services.
After I did that, I started making money from my businesses and from other services in my funnel.
Suddenly, I was making enough money to cover my house payment, 2 car payments and the light bill every month.
That’s when I realized that the secret to establish myself as a mortgage banker in a very competitive market was to use the internet to BYPASS traditional avenues and go straight to the people who had the problem I could solve with my services.
My plan was to start repeating the process with more sophisticated marketing efforts of my own on various related services.
So, I started coming up with new ideas my audience would want to buy. But we didn’t stop there.
We then sat down and busted my ass and ended up starting and growing a very successful real estate appraisal firm.
After that, more than 20 years later we still run that business.
Realizing how much our marketing strategies helped our business, we decided to help lawyers specifically.
But there was still a problem...
It still took a LONG time to sit down at the keyboard and type up new marketing ideas.
It took days and weeks of 12-hour days to get it done and it was NO fun.
Some campaigns hit, others tanked and hardly sold anything.
Despite asking people what they would buy, you never knew until the campaign was done which ones would hit and which ones would not.
THEN, you had to write the sales letter, the emails, ads, and all the other stuff you needed to actually SELL the services.
So, it was still a LOT of work, a LOT of time, and a LOT of risk to just try and guess about your marketing strategies.
Also, because it took so long to write the copy and create the sales materials, creating a funnel for these services (where you actually make the REAL money) never got done.
We ended up getting so frustrated that we decided to create a better process, using technology, strategy, and software, to help create our new campaigns not in years, or months... but in just a few days!.
I thought if we could create something that would make it possible to help NON-marketing individuals grow their businesses in a predictable way, we’d be really happy.
As a result of all this we were able to achieve the following:
Help lawyers with their marketing strategy to grow their legal practices.
Create a predictable way to capture leads and paying customers for every lawyer we work with.
Help all of our clients build their credibility, make more sales and build their business.
After creating “PCAS” or Predictable Client Acquisition System, I was not only able to create the content and sales materials for our businesses.
I’ve also been able to increase our revenues and profit margins, because we can now create things so quickly using a proven process and tools.
And in the end, all of this means I’m now able to help a lot more people achieve their dream of getting more clients and grow their legal practices with a lot less pain and effort than I spent over the last 20 years it took me to figure the right marketing strategies and tools.
Here are what I consider to be the most effective lawyer marketing strategies when starting out.
Word of caution: when trying out these strategies, you must have a system in place that will convert all your traffic.
*** If you don’t have a system in place, do not attempt any of the strategies, unless you’re into burning money.
Strategy #1: PPC or Pay Per Click Search Advertising
This is by far the most effective way to get your business in front of your audience every day.
People are searching for your services every day, show up and you're in.
Strategy #2: Facebook Ads
Facebook advertising is great when you have the right strategy in place. I would recommend to, do this only as an add-on to your PPC campaign for re-marketing purposes. This is a killer combination and should get you awesome results.
Strategy #3: “GDN” or Google Display Network Advertising
This is also another great add-on to your PPC search advertising campaign. Re-marketing is one of the most successful and must under-utilized strategies.
Don't do this on its own, not all the people that see your ad are looking for your services.
But when people are searching for your services and start seeing your display ads all over the internet...
You get the picture, right?
Combo, combo... this combined with your PPC search advertising campaign, will get you some awesome results.
This, you could most likely do on its own as well. Google owns YouTube and is also the second largest search engine in the internet.
People are looking for legal help, show up on their video player, and get them to act on your offer. This is when you get to stand out as a lawyer for your digital marketing campaigns.
Strategy #5: “SEO” Search Engine Optimization
SEO is a long game. SEO takes time and dedication and done right, it will pay big in the long run. Time, and patience, is what I say about this strategy. Here’s a book you might find helpful

Strategy #6: Directory Listings
Listing your legal practice all over the relevant directories you can find. This again, is one of those hit or miss, but it can work like a link building strategy.
Reddit has a couple of forums where a lot of people come in to find answers to their legal questions. Become a member, give free legal advice, get some people to visit your website and convert into a client.
